1971 Dodge Dart Swinger

Pictures Coming Sometime !!

This has been a big project car.  It started life as a 225 slant six automatic, had just 40,000 miles on it when I purchased it.   Here are most of the things that have been done, the project will be done before long and hopefully it will fire back up to life as a entirely different vehicle, only the VIN number remains the same.

Engine:  1979 360 police engine from a Plymouth Gran Fury.  The block was bored .030 and 9:1 pistons installed, the heads are Edelbrock 63cc aluminum heads, the cam is a Mopar Performance grind (.484 lift, 284 duration), the intake is an Edelbrock Air Gap aluminum dual plane, carburetor is a Carter 750 cfm AFB, police water pump, 3 core radiator and Dynomax jet coated headers exhaust the gases generated by the Mopar Performance ignition system.

Transmission:  This is a A-999 torqueflite automatic completely rebuilt and Trans-Go shift kit installed and a high stall converter to feed the torque to it.

Rear End:  The rear is a 8 3/4 from a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda with new 3.55 gears and a Chrysler sure-grip unit, with C-body axles cut and re-splined to hold the big drum brakes from a 1968 Dodge Charger, all hung from new 6 leaf springs and poly bushings.

Front Suspension:  The suspension was removed from a 1973 Plymouth Duster, with the upgraded K-frame, new 340 torsion bars, poly bushings, Firm Feel 20:1 manual steering box, 11 inch rotors and disk brakes, aluminum master cylinder from a 1984 Dodge truck.

Wheels / Tires:   Chrysler 15X7 rallye wheels with 225/60/15 rear tires and 215/65/15 front tires.
